Christmas 2009
Yes, we know it's nearly February. We were busy. Finding a hat Brennan couldn't rip off his head, toss on the floor, and step on with a triumphant grin. Also discovering our new camera shoots video clips that are FAR too large for uploading. I just kept blaming Comcast. And the rain. We've had a lot of rain. Not evacuating because of mudslides level, but enough to knock out the power at the YMCA one morning. We had to evacuate because of legal liability. I was only 15 minutes into my spin class. Boy, was I pissed.
One of Brennan's many Christmas gifts was a stuffed Border Collie we've dubbed "Little Laika" - I'm hoping it might take some of the abuse that Real Laika currently endures. As for what happened to his face...well, it was small and quick and rhymes with "Tennessean". Not to worry, Bren's face is back to normal, and everyone's little fingernails are trimmed very short.
We went to the zoo on Christmas day because, well, it was open. I knew this because of the fatal tiger attack that occurred here on Christmas day 2007. We made it out alive.
Brennan loves his new toolbox - it's just like his cousin's. It plays music, which he sometimes dances to, but he seems to prefer playing the music and watching other people dance to it. Mostly his daddy.
We made it through all the gifts in one day this year, and no crying - a big improvement over his first Christmas. Another new favorite toy is his tiny red piano - the subject of the video I've failed to upload - so you'll just have to make due with a photo and imagine the music. I'll give you a hint: our apartment regularly sounds like the soundtrack for a stabbing scene in a horror film.
