The sun is out, the trees are blooming, and there's only been a little more rain this April. We've been trying to get out and enjoy Spring -
visiting gardens
picking flowers
dining on the patio at Zazie
(the crayons and wine corks are especially tasty there)
And of course, there was Easter Sunday. For the first time since Brennan was born, it was neither raining or a work day for me, so I got the bright idea to pack up a little picnic and some candy-filled eggs and head up to Healdsburg. Taste a little wine, look for eggs on a tastefully landscaped tasting room lawn - you know, make Easter fun for the whole family.
Or not. Apparently, in small towns, Easter is still a holiday one closes shop for. Who knew?
Luckily, one of our regular stops - Unti - was open. They're family-run and pretty laid back, so we managed to have our egg hunt, at least. Yes, it was partially in a parking lot, but when all your previous egg hunts have been in the living room, it's still a step up.
The easter bunny hides eggs in grapevines!
enjoying the booty-
And the traditional Easter burial of Busy Bee Thomas and the Honey Car in parking lot gravel:
Then it was time to be chased by the Daddy Monster!
And a second burial for Busy Bee Thomas-
Happy Easter!
