Summer visits early

Late April brought one of those random 3-4 day heat waves that hit the city a couple times each year, during which San Franciscan's try to cram in as many "summer" activities as possible:
Going to the beach -
Playing outdoors without a jacket -
Hanging out on your front stoop until the neighbors invite you on an ice cream run-
It was so warm that we didn't mind that all the outdoor tables at Bar Bocce were taken and we had to sit inside.  I did have to give Lucie Bean my iPhone to keep her busy, though.  Somehow she managed to take this picture of herself:
After I saw her self-portrait, I wondered if she was trying to tell me something - I have been feeling a little guilty about the relative lack of Lucie portraits.  In my defense, she doesn't take direction well, or really even hold still.  And usually her big brother gets wind of what I'm doing and tries to insert himself into the session.  But if Uncle Gavin & Aunt Amy take Brennan out for ice cream, I can manage a few pictures:

It's always fun when Uncle Gavin visits (especially if he can bring Amy) - but this time we had an extra-special treat: a trip to see the airplane he flies!

Ready for takeoff-
(Bren actually sat in the cockpit for all of 30 seconds before announcing "I'm done".)
We had better luck strolling over to check out the WWII bomber - the B17 Flying Fortress- although the "scary man" (a dummy in the tail gun) was a topic of conversation for several days afterward.
