Our annual trip to see the little trains at the Conservatory of Flowers - Ian came along, too -
followed by a carousel ride-
We made our regular trips to the YMCA, so Mommy or Daddy could exercise, followed by walks in the Presidio -
One weekday, we were desperately in search of a train - I had promised the toy track at the Randall Museum, or a return to the Conservatory of Flowers, but both were closed. So we joined the San Francisco Zoo, because $100 is perfectly reasonable to spend to ride a tiny train:
We did look at some animals, too - Brennan's favorite was the rhino, and Lucie particularly enjoyed the tamarinds, which she called "monkey kitty".
Lucie & I had a Girls Day Out at the Academy of Sciences, watching the fish -
and eating ice cream in Golden Gate Park.
Roux even got to have a day out - we hiked up Cataract Falls in Marin, which was very pretty after a late January rain. There's a lot of stairs and hill climbing, so it was a bit like climbing a Stairmaster in the middle of a forest scene screen saver, so I felt like I totally deserved the bowl of shrimp & grits I inhaled at the Hummingbird Cafe in Fairfax after the hike.
Speaking of food - I was showing pictures of Lucie to my friends at work, and realized most of them seem to involve her plowing through something sweet.
Like s'mores -
- milkshakes (she splits one with Bren) -
- and Valentine's Day candy from Gangi -
Probably, it's just because eating goodies is a time when she looks happy and stays in one place long enough for a photo. But I can occasionally catch her doing something else, like rolling on the sidewalk in the sun-
