I am the funniest person in THE WORLD

To anyone who ever thought I'm not funny - that my sense of humor is too weird, or dry, or profane - well, Brennan has one thing to say:  you're wrong.  As the video below shows, I'm hilarious.  Comedy GOLD, I say.

Also, I remembered I've been leaving you hanging re: Baby Rhyme Time, offered at the library.  The Park Branch of the SFPL is a lovely old building, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and (of course) books surrounding a number of scarred wood study tables. Not this is the SF branch of Trinity College - most of the study tables are occupied by homeless people taking a break from pushing their shopping carts around Golden Gate Park - but it's a pleasant enough spot to read a magazine or leaf through a book before you check it out.  I figured at 10:30 am on a Thursday, there would be a dozen or so mommies (or daddies) and babies quietly enjoying a few rounds of "3 Blind Mice" back in the children's section.  Um, no.  Apparently, I'm not the only parent/caretaker with nothing better to do on a sunny March morning - "mob scene" might be a better way to describe it.  There were at least 50 people there, not counting kids.  Falling toddlers and Cheerios dust everywhere....The library contains the chaos in a big basement conference room and provides a guy who might have some sort of mild case of Tourette's syndrome to tell stories about 5 hungry crocodiles and lead us in (creepy) song.  I had "tick tock I'm a little cuckoo clock" stuck in my head for days.  But Brennan seemed to enjoy it, so I'll probably go back.  Maybe with ear plugs.  Or a flask.

Eating

Brennan is making progress with "solid" foods - he still prefers pre-processed pureed Frog Hollow Farm pears to Gerber's sweet peas or Mommy's carrots, but to be honest, so do I.  He's at least accepting the other stuff, perhaps because his Aunt Kris has provided so many fun eating accessories:

He's also growing up in alarming leaps - after work on Sunday, he was on the bed with his daddy and doing his "baby swims very hard but doesn't get very far since he's not in the water" routine, and I told him if he couldn't get those knees up under him, he'd never get anywhere.  The words were still hanging in their balloon in the air over our heads, and he proceeds to scoot his knees under his body and rock back and forth.  Just like his doctor said he'd do when he was close to crawling. Crap.  The next night, his Grandma Lorna asked if he had any teeth yet - I said I didn't think so, but let me check.  And guess what?  He's cutting a lower incisor.  Crap.  But here's what Bren has to say about it:

Florida part 2

The Internet Wars continue, so uploading and posting is still a challenge, and it frustrates Brennan's daddy to no end. On the up side, we're getting to know our Comcast guy pretty well(Hi Robert!). Turns out his girlfriend works with me at the animal hospital. We've had a fair amount of rain, doctor's appointments, and the usual work-associated crap - so let's just revisit happier times, OK? Back to Florida we go....

Brennan went on his first boat ride - we spent an afternoon on Grandpa Marshall's sailboat. We made a brief attempt at baby safety with this life jacket...

but that didn't last long. I think Bren & Grandpa go to the same hat store.

He seemed to enjoy sailing, and even took a little nap in the cabin. Other fun parts of our Florida vacation included: pulling Kris's hair -
Making a racket for Great-grandma Doris & Bill - this is a few minutes before Meltdown #1-

and playing Koala Bear at the beach.
I think the rainy season may be on the way out, and we've been trying to get out & have a little fun the past few days, so hopefully there will be some new photos & stories soon. I need a little recovery time before I can even begin to describe "Baby Rhyme Time" at the local library.
