Sunny Weekend

It was a freakishly warm weekend, so we took the opportunity to head across the Golden Gate and spend the afternoon in Sausalito. This would generally be a good idea, except that approx. 1/4 of San Francisco and 1/2 of the tourists visiting San Francisco had the same idea. So we ended up at Horizons (aka, "Changes", for reasons that remain inexplicable) - it's mediocre and overpriced, but is right on the water and never has more than a 20 minute wait.

Plus, Bren thinks their bread is DELICIOUS.

He seems very happy to be able to feed himself - and so am I. A handful of cheerios on the high chair tray buys me enough time to feed the dog, make my lunch, etc. He also does pretty well with sliced blueberries and little bits of fish or chicken. Avocado - not so much. Unless you want green slime behind his ears. He's also holding his bottle - he's so good at that, in fact, he can do it in his sleep.

Here he is at 10 months, showing off most of his teeth - the current count is 6.

New Stats

Happy Summer!  Here is Brennan's 9 month photo, even if it was taken a week late.  We were in Mexico on the 17th and I wasn't bringing the couch with us.  I'm not sure how many more of these I can manage, as this is what these photo sessions generally look like:
He had his (belated) 9 month check up this week, everything is fine, and he is almost 21 lbs and 31 inches.  There are a few more teeth trying to make an appearance - all his upper incisors are starting to poke through.  I'm a little sad, I'll miss his crazy 3 teeth and gums smile.  He's eating more & more solid food- I can't decide if his favorite is watermelon, peaches, or blueberries - but bread bits and cheerios are big hits, too, since he can eat them without any help.

The clouds were getting a little oppressive in Little Transylvania (AKA San Francisco in the summer) so we took off for afternoon in Healdsburg -
We only let him drive in parking lots -

He enjoyed going out to eat and joining meal times so much in Mexico, we were brave enough to try it here when Uncle Gavin visited.  Brennan was mostly good, as long as there was bread and/or cheerios.  Just don't order him a plate of mashed peas.  Or put him anywhere close to a candle.
He's crawling like a maniac now - mostly in pursuit of Laika - and pulling up onto everything.  The lamps may not be long for this world.  The video doesn't really do full justice, but is fun to watch anyway.
