iPhone

This post is featuring photography by Daddy - he seems to be a follower of the belief that the best camera to use is the one you always have with you - so these were all shot with an iPhone over the past few months. The one above is from the local playground on a very sunny day, back when Brennan would still wear a hat. I'm particularly fond of the dangling little stocking feet in that one. Below, some quality baby bed-head -

Post-birthday, hanging around with the balloon. And in the totally random theme of this post - the best bubbles, by far, are made by Gazillion Bubbles. The bottle doesn't drip (much), the crazy wand produces large quantities of tiny to large bubbles, and the solution holds up in our plant-killing, hill-top wind. I heard about them in the popular parenting magazine, The New Yorker.

Here are a couple from our first zoo trip - what's dumber, the tool in the background on his mobile phone at the petting zoo, or me, trying to hide under the edge of the "prairie dog" hole and failing?

There's even an iPhone application called "toy camera" that does peculiar things to the light and makes your pics look like chiaroscuro cherubs or "I found this weird snapshot from the 70's in a box at a yard sale".

OK, it's time to say Bye-Bye. Can you say Bye-Bye? Brennan and Woobie Dog are saying Bye-Bye to YOU.

Brennan at the Zoo

We made a trip to the zoo the last time it was 1) nice; 2) neither of the adults had to work; 3) we weren't traveling or car shopping (btw, we got a nice big mom car) or whatever - which means these pictures are at least 2 weeks old. Also, given the number of animals in these photos, there's very little evidence we were actually at a zoo. Really, I'm doing my best here. Now that Brennan is walking, he's developing strong opinions about things, and his mid- to late afternoon daily meltdown is causing significant damage to my cognitive function. Someday, when it seems funny, I'll tell you all about it.

Yeah, so overweight pygmy goats are fun and all, but they are not nearly as cool as...

GOING DOWN THE SLIDE ALL BY YOURSELF!!!!!

And doesn't he look handsome in his guayabera?

The Zoo also features an old favorite, the swings....

which are great fun, as long as someone is pushing. Just sitting is about as much fun as looking at the dozing kangaroos.
